Rhondine Petrof is a social entrepreneur who has committed to her life’s purpose to contribute meaningfully to visiting students personal and professional development while addressing the needs of community stakeholders in her home country of Belize in Central America. 

Rhondine founded Toucan Education Programs (Toucan) in 2010 and draws on her knowledge garnered from working at Galen University and in education abroad for a combined 16 years, working and supporting local non-profits for 6 years, and 12 years in tourism. Toucan is now powered by a leadership team with 49 combined years in higher education and education abroad.

Her mission is accomplished through short-term education abroad programs that are intentionally designed to offer students’ credit-eligible experiential and intercultural learning that invite students and educators to practice reciprocity with the diverse people, cultures, historical, and ecological resources of her native country, Belize.
